| 9.00am - 9.30am | Keynote session:
The Essence of Rich Interactive Experience (Greg Rewis) |
Everyone can appreciate the expressive power and aesthetic appeal of rich media. Rich internet applications use an engaging rich media presentation to enhance communication, but they also provide highly responsive interaction and local intelligence to enhance the quality of interaction with the user. At Macromedia we've been thinking a lot about four essential qualities that make an interactive experience more engaging for wizards and weenies alike. This session will challenge and (we hope) inspire you to deliver experiences that are seamless, focused, connected, and aware. |
| Creating Rich Media | ||
| It isn't enough just to be different -- learn techniques and practices that enable you to create media with real impact and the power to communicate in new ways. These sessions teach you advanced techniques for drawing and animation, how to incorporate video effectively, and how a little bit of scripting can add interactive power to Flash | ||
| 9.30am -10.15am | ActionScript for Designers (Greg Rewis) |
If you are a Flash designer who wants to use ActionScript to create more sophisticated websites and interfaces, then this hands-on session is for you. Learn the fundamentals of ActionScript and use it to create custom animations and interactive user interfaces. |
| 10.15am - 11.00am | Deconstructing Flash Video (Greg Rewis) |
Learn how to leverage the most widely available platform on the planet for deploying video to the web. We’ll discuss the creative control of video that Flash provides as well as tips and tricks for optimal deployment and end-user experience. We’ll also learn how to make your video content interactive be deconstructing great video experiences like CNet.com and Redbullcopilot.com. |
| 11.00am - 11.30am | Break | |
| 11.30am - 12.00pm | Macromedia Flash Platform Overview and Roadmap (Greg Rewis ) | In this session, Macromedia executives will describe how Macromedia Flash technologies and products fit together and lay out the roadmap for the future evolution of the platform. |

| 12.15pm - 1.00pm | Understanding the Flash Player Security Model |
This session focuses on the role of Flash Player in providing a framework for building secure Rich Internet Applications. Besides examining features that provide the functionality needed by security-conscious developers, we will discuss real-world concerns of developers and system administrators, and explain how Macromedia has used these technologies in its own development projects, such as Flex and Central. |
| 1.00pm - 2.00pm | Lunch | |
| Developing Rich Internet Applications | ||
| This track focuses on techniques and technical challenges in building rich Internet applications using the powerful array of tools Macromedia provides: Flex, Flash, Flash Communication Server, and Central. Sessions address application design as well as basic and advanced development techniques, addressing problems like data access, creating components, and building sometimes-connected applications. | ||
| 2.00pm - 2.45pm | Building Flash Applications with Dynamic Data (Titu Minhas) |
Learn how to create a dynamic, data-driven application using the Flash data-binding components. In addition to enabling quick and easy access to server-side data from Flash applications, you'll learn how Flash data-binding components let you format and validate your data—all without writing any code. |
| 2.45pm - 3.30pm | Migrating to RIA from traditional web and client server applications (James Talbot) | Migration from traditional visual tools such as Visual Basic, Delphi to RIA. The rise in use of Rich Internet Applications has forced designers to rethink application design from a web based perspective. This session will teach you to think beyond the page-based UI metaphor from HTML, as well as from traditional client server tools such as visual basic and Delphi. You will understand the new patterns to use when designing RIAs. |
| 3.30pm - 4.00pm | Break | |
| 4.00pm - 4.45pm | Creating Your First Flex Application (James Talbot) | Here's your chance to get your hands dirty with Flex. In this 90-minute hands-on session you'll create a Flex application using Flex Builder. You will use controls, containers, and bindings to create a data-driven application that uses external data supplied from XML and web services. |
| 4.45pm - 5.15pm | Using ActionScript2 in Flex and Flash Applications (James Talbot) | Flash and Flex use ActionScript 2 as their coding bases. This session provides a comprehensive overview of core AS 2.0 syntax, so you can begin utilizing its power in both Flash and Flex. |
| Rapid eLearning and Training | ||
| 5.15pm - 6.00pm | Breeze Session (Titu Minhas) |
Learn how Macromedia Breeze lets you quickly combine existing learning assets with real-time interactivity for collaborative teaching and learning experiences. See how the new Breeze Live feature-set extends the Macromedia Breeze platform with capabilities such as live and recorded video and audio, screen sharing, two-way text chat, and more, so you can deliver live staff training or extend your courses to the web. |
