About au Service

Flash Lite

au Service by mobile phone operator KDDI leverages its proprietary 2G/3G mobile Internet platform.

Macromedia Flash Lite 1.1, the Flash Player profile for mobile phones, is now available for service providers and handset manufacturers around the world. Building on the Flash Lite 1.0 profile for mobile phones, this release introduces key features relating to connectivity, device-specific capabilities, and standards support.

au Service Distribution

au Service by KDDI is Japan's second largest wireless data service provider. With over 17 million subscribers, it represents a huge market for content authors.

To deliver content to this market, a company must either become an au-certified content provider or distribute content through a certified content provider who aggregates third-party content. au Service handsets do not work outside of Japan, but with the Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004 updates provided by Macromedia, designers outside of Japan can create and prototype Flash Lite content.
