Fireworks 8: Only the Shadow Knows

For a long time, faithful users of Fireworks have been pining for ways to add shadows to objects—other than the Drop Shadow effect. Fireworks 8 introduces two new shadow features: Add Shadow command and Solid Shadow Live Filter.

In the first section of this article, I will review the new Add Shadow command. In the second section, I will delve into the Solid Shadow Live Filter. And then I'll wrap things up with some ideas on using these two new features of Fireworks 8.

About the author

Jim Babbage's two passions—teaching and photography—led him to a career in commercial photography.
