From 3GSM to Nokia's adoption of Flash Lite, to great new developer work for Flash Lite and Pocket PC—the first six months of 2005 have really proven that Flash is mobile. And the rest of the year promises to be just as exciting as the first half of 2005.
So much has happened, it's hard to believe it's all been jammed into six short months. New companies have licensed Flash technologies for mobile phones, and we've launched improved mobile developer support and other product initiatives. It's amazing to see how quickly technology is evolving from software to hardware to the wide range of content that developers like yourself are creating.
Since it's the hazy days of summer, I thought it might be good to provide you with a quick summary of what has happened since the beginning of this year:
The second half of the year is shaping up to be just as exciting for developers and content owners, and I can’t wait to share with everyone some of the things we’re working on. Obviously I can’t share everything we’re planning right now, but I can highlight some items:
I look forward to hearing from you as well as seeing the type of mobile content you’re creating. You can send any comments to mobiledeveloper@macromedia.com and someone will get back to you. Remember that you can upload your Flash Lite and Pocket PC content to either the Flash Lite or Pocket PC exchange. These exchanges are a great way for you to make your content available globally, and they enable you to create awareness of your work. Also don’t forget to take a look at the Mobile and Devices forums to find out what developers are discussing and to get support from your peers.
I hope to see you either in person or online during the rest of the year.
