Flash Video is sweeping the Internet, clearing way for the best user experience the world has ever known for Internet-based video. This 60-minute session is broken into six 10-minute tutorials. This Macrochat introduces material from the new Macromedia Flash Video Training course.

The session starts with an overview of Flash Video in the market. Flash Player is the most frequently installed video and MP3 player in the world. In that context, I review how you can use the pre-built components to deliver Flash Video to your users. Advanced users will see great advanced Flash Video techniques, including synchronizing data with video, closed captioning, and strategies for building a seek bar and monitoring the stream.

By using Flash Video, you provide your users with the best experience possible on the Internet today. After this Macrochat you will understand that "Play" just means "Play."

What You Will Learn

  • Flash Video 101 and future
  • Building a progress/seek bar
  • Creative techniques including transition effects and masking
  • Cue points (synchronizing Flash events with Video) and creating a video thumbnail viewer
  • Creating rock-star Flash Video(FLV) conversions and bandwidth scaling
