Streaming Media
Audio and Video Streaming
Deliver high-quality audio and video through the Macromedia Flash Player 6 by a compact and efficient Sorenson video codec, based on industry-standard H.263 video technology and an advanced audio codec. You can synchronize multimedia, audio, and video streams; control streams through scripting; and configure playback settings, such as volume control.
Video Capture
Capture and configure video input from any standard PC web camera for high-quality video images. Adjust framerate, size, and quality. Use motion detection to initiate capture, minimizing video sent over the network and reducing bandwidth pressures. Capture video with acceptable quality by DSL or better, send visual presence/low-framerate images by modem—and support multiple cameras on one client.
Audio Capture
Capture configurable voice input from microphones or microphone-enabled devices for high-quality audio communications. Configure silence levels and microphone volume controls. Integrate multiple microphones on one client. Create—then deploy—live audio (full duplex) and push-to-talk style applications.
Video Object Control
The video object is a standard Macromedia Flash graphical object. You can use it to take advantage of powerful Macromedia Flash graphics features, such as alpha channel, color transforms, rotation, layering, and masking in your streaming video.
NetStream
Publish live video, or playback live or recorded video from the server. Seamlessly play one clip after another in a playlist controlled by server- or client-side scripting. Record live streams on the server with a simple setting. Control buffering for smooth recording and playback—flexible scripting allows you to seek to any point in time. You can also display a single frame for poster frames or thumbnails.
