In combination with Adobe Device Central CS3, you can efficiently design, test, emulate, and optimize Flash Lite content. Yes, but with some caveats. Not all Flash Player 7 features are supported in Flash Lite 2.x. Flash Video and Rich Text Style support (CSS) are notable exceptions. Can I download Flash Lite from Adobe's website?

Yes. Developers can download the Flash Lite 2.1 standalone players for free from Adobe’s website.

What browsers does Flash Lite work with?

Flash Lite is integrated with various browsers embedded in mobile phones and consumer electronics devices. Licensees have already integrated the Flash Player SDK with browsers from Access, Opera, Espial, Ant, Microsoft, and OpenTV. However, Flash Lite is more powerful than just a browser plug-in. OEM licensees are building entire interfaces as well as applications and services outside of the browser that utilize Flash Lite.

Will there be devices that support Flash Player 7?

Yes. The Flash Player SDK will be updated and distributed to all current and new licensees. Adobe has not yet announced any specific timing for this update. Because of the significant new features and performance optimizations, many OEMs that use the Flash Player today are likely to upgrade to Flash Player 7. Because most devices do not support software upgrades, only newly shipped products are likely to support the latest versions of Flash Player.

How much content is available for Flash Lite?

Thousands of pieces of content have been created for NTT DoCoMo's i-mode service and KDDI’s AU service. Additionally, millions of pieces originally created for the web can be repurposed for mobile phones. As the availability of Flash Lite–enabled handsets increases, there will be ever-growing deployment of Flash content for mobile phones. Visit the Mobile & Devices Gallery for more information.

Is Flash Player going to be available for my Palm OS device?

Sony CLIÉ handhelds already ship with Flash Player. We continue to work with other Palm OS licensees to continue to broaden the distribution of Flash Player on additional devices.
