Using the Flash 5 Timeline

Macromedia Flash 5 offers two styles for viewing, selecting, and modifying Timeline objects:

Flash 5 default style With the new Flash 5 default style, the way you select and modify frame sequences is similar to the way you perform those tasks in Macromedia Director. Certain frames are drawn differently than they are in Flash 4.

Flash 4 style You can set your Flash 5 preferences to use the selection and frame-drawing styles of Flash 4. With these settings, your Timeline will look and feel exactly as it did in Flash 4.

This tutorial examines the major differences between the Flash 5 default and Flash 4 Timeline styles. By downloading the tutorial file, you'll be able to try out each style and decide which works best for you.
